God works in mysterious ways that smmotiees we don’t understand. Life is full of surprises and detours. If we can stay in tune with God closely, a detour is not always bad. When you strive to be in His will, you listen, and obey. In my life, as you know, God has redirected my path on several occasions, and He has blessed me through it all. I think the hard part is taking self out of the picture and letting God be in the driver’s seat with whatever happens in life. You know what I always say: When God closes a door, He always opens a window.
“Yvonne McCalla Sobers and Askhari Johnson Hodari have offered us a rare treasure. They have created for us a gathering of the elders to offer us wise counsel.” -The Archbishop Desmond Tutu
"Lifelines is a rich and fascinating exploration into the vast well of African wisdom throughout the centuries. The authors have superbly culled and categorized an exquisite array of ancestral insight and knowledge. This book not only reflects Africa’s intellectual contribution to humanity, but it inspires and encourages self-reflection while educating one on history, geography, and social customs. Lifelines provides the necessary perspective and clarity we need in these complex times."
